    Question is, what’s the cost to the business. If the shop has a nice vibe would they come back for the cheaper coffee. If the shop doesn’t have a nice vibe would they bother for the fruitiness.

    I think there is a certain point where skill definetly matters more than the equipment but in the absolute budget range (say 150$) it is really hard to get out enough of a machine. Especially if it is a steam "wand" with a panerello for milk and wonky temperatures on a pressurized basket for espresso. Tho I gotta say you can get an insane amount of stuff out if you know where to invest. Many people just buy a dedica, swap out the pressurized for a non-pressurized one, get rid of the panerello of the steam want and fix that rubber piece that's left with a zip-tie and boom. You have a machine that can get the job done really well! Especially this bambino is really enough for baristas once you get used to using a thermoblock in terms of steam. Especially now, where they come with non-pressurized baskets. ;)

    Half the upsides listed for the high end portafilter machines are also true for the cheaper entry level machines. Grinder, puck-prep, baskets, coffee beans and even the water you're using have much more of an impact on the result than the machine. Basket and portafilter can also be replaced on almost all domestic machines. Sure, higher end machines are better, that’s not up for discussion but cheaper machines with a good basket, grinder and coffee can give you a result shockingly similar to high end ones. The machines task is just to provide the desired temperature and pressure and not deviate from them shot to shot. Most domestic machines (Gaggia classic, Sage Barista Pro/Express, Sage Bambino, Rancilio Silvia, ...) can provide that. In that regard the video is a bit of a miss. High end machines are described as the end all be all in order to get great coffee at home but that’s simply not the case…

    Love. Coffee FLAVOR , but hate bitter taste. any coffee tastes bitter, we’re tired of addddding sugar and CREME to neutralize the bitterness, but also removes flavor. Many the flavonoids are inherently bitter . how do coffee ice cream makers get it to taste coffeeish with so much sugar and creaminess ?

    👎 Very weak experiment set up. You guys should have chosen a professional barista vs everyday coffee making amateur. It makes no sense to compare a pro with a moron who hears what coffee is for the first time.

  • @massakidi
    @massakidi 24 дня назад

    the only problem with this experiment is that it's bias.. you are telling people from the beginning that there is a super expensive coffee in there. A way more interesting experiment will be just asking them which one they like the most, without having they know they are so different in price. That could possibly prove that expensive coffee is not actually better.

    Personally, as a home barista, I believe that you gave me the best information for a perfect espresso. I have been dealing with espresso coffee at home for ten years. I have read hundreds of information and instructions as well as watched hundreds of RUclips videos on the best way to make coffee. However, nothing about how to understand the taste of coffee as you explained. But just yesterday I saw your video, I did some calculations and tests and I can say that today I have tried with my hands the best espresso I have ever drunk in my life. Thank you and congratulations. Keep going.
